Irondequoit Country Club Renovation Project Makes An AceSeptember 18, 2009 - Irondequoit Country Club has been an integral part of the Rochester golfing community since 1916. In order to maintain its goal of providing members with the finest golf facilities and aesthetically pleasing surroundings, the Club decided to implement an extensive interior and exterior renovation project. Parrone Engineering was selected as the prime consultant for this significant project. As part of the renovation project, Parrone Engineering and its design team, which included Smith and Associates Architects, Q-Tech Engineering, P.C., and Spectrum Design Group, had to work with various constraints and challenges. These included respecting the original art deco design while adding a "fresh" yet sophisticated look to the overall appearance of the clubhouse and cart barn, addressing the numerous handicap accessible issues in the clubhouse and surrounding grounds, and enhancing the landscaping design to represent the premier course surroundings. Solutions that were used to achieve the Club's vision included:
These unique renovations were accomplished through the use of special grading, landscaping, decorative walls, and extraordinary site LED lighting. Internally, the clubhouse was brought "up to par" by creating dining areas with breathtaking views of the elegant courtyard area and new patio, efficient and conveniently located meeting rooms, an impressive grill and bar room, and remodeled locker rooms. The Irondequoit Country Club Renovation Project was successfully completed in May of 2009 and has an estimated total value of $4.1 million. Its members can be proud of and enjoy this impressive and thoughtfully designed facility now and for many years to come. |
