Rochester Institute of Technology College of Applied Science and Technology (CAST) Engineering Technology Building
The Rochester Institute of Technology is one of the largest private universities in the country.
Parrone Engineering was commissioned as part of the design team along with SWBR Architects and M/E Engineering to perform site design services for a new building addition that would provide an identifiable and distinctive home for CAST. The CAST Building is RIT's first "green," LEED gold-certified building.
The firm was specifically responsible for the demolition of existing parking areas and the site design to relocate those spaces. Parrone Engineering also designed parking lot expansions to accommodate the new demand from the building addition and was responsible for the extension of underground utilities to service the CAST Building. This included utility and infrastructure improvements to support the construction and future expansion in the northwest sector of the academic buildings.
