Monroe Community College Association HousingMonroe Community College Association On-Campus Student Housing

Monroe Community College expressed a need to develop on-campus student housing on its Brighton campus to accommodate the increasing number of students enrolled from outside the area.

The Monroe Community College Association commissioned Parrone Engineering as part of the design team, along with Kideney Architects and Q-Tech, to develop the 76-unit, seven pod residence facility with 240 vehicle parking spaces.

In order for the College to make the project affordable, six acres of land needed to be subdivided.  This made it necessary for the local community to approve the project under its present zoning requirements.  In particular, the resolution of a conditional use permit and a variety of variances were required.
